    “Thanks,” I said, clawing at the fries, her sense of humor making the cold and gummy consistency bearable.
  23. charisma
    personal attractiveness that enables you to influence others
    I’d be one and done, thrown off my square by being surprised by my own charisma.
  24. unfair
    marked by injustice, inequality, or bias
    She’d call me selfish and unfair.
  25. subplot
    a subordinate or secondary story in a work of fiction
    If this were a movie, this is when the subplot would take over.
