  1. arcade
    a structure composed of arches supported by columns
    My Pure Detroit tour of the Fisher Building started in the barrel-vaulted arcade, with Mr. Hooper giving visitors an excellent sense of what the building was like when it opened.
  2. arch
    a curved masonry construction for spanning an opening
    Inside, the spectacular church is filled with gold; a series of arches leads to an elevated platform where the monks sing and preach in turn.
