Full list of words from this list:

  1. amplitude
the maximum displacement of a periodic wave
  2. pulse
a sharp transient wave in the normal electrical state
  3. cycle
a periodically repeated sequence of events
  4. input
signal going into an electronic system
  5. output
signal that comes out of an electronic system
  6. process
perform mathematical and logical operations on
  7. interface
circuit consisting of hardware linking a device with another
  8. network
a system of interconnected electronic components or circuits
  9. data
a collection of facts from which conclusions may be drawn
  10. binary
of or pertaining to a number system having 2 as its base
  11. circuit
an electrical device providing a path for current to flow
When handling computers, keep one hand on chassis ground and use the other to remove the component. This will prevent a static electrical charge from entering and damaging the electronic circuitry. If available, wear an anti-static wrist strap when working on computer circuits.
  12. integrated
formed into a whole or introduced into another entity
  13. digital
using or characteristic of computerized technology
  14. signal
a quantity whose modulation represents coded information
Most vehicle sensors (transducers) change a physical condition into an electrical signal. A sensor can actively produce its own voltage signal internally or it can passively change its internal resistance with a change in condition. Sensors can be found almost anywhere on a vehicle to detect how it's operating and control the actuators that alter the operation of other components.
  15. memory
    an electronic storage device
  16. module
a self-contained component used in combination with others
  17. buffer
a part of RAM used for temporary storage of data
  18. adaptive
    having a capacity for change
  19. malfunction
    fail to work properly
  20. failure
loss of ability to function normally
  21. fault
equipment failure attributable to some defect in a circuit
  22. parameter
any factor defining a system and determining its performance
  23. configuration
an arrangement of parts or elements
  24. operation
    process or manner of functioning
  25. prompt
a symbol that a computer is ready to receive a command
  26. wiggle
    move to and fro
Many computer system failures, especially intermittent ones, are caused by loose, dirty, or corroded connections. These failures can be found by performing a wiggle or flex test.
  27. improper
not suitable or right or appropriate
  28. standardize
cause to conform to a norm
  29. pinpoint
    locate exactly
  30. preliminary
preceding or in preparation for something more important
  31. visual
    relating to or using sight
  32. intermittent
stopping and starting at irregular intervals
  33. stress
(physics) force that produces strain on a physical body
  34. connection
    an instrumentality that links
  35. junction
    something that joins or connects
  36. relay
device in which current can be switched between circuits
  37. leak
an accidental hole that allows something to enter or escape
  38. defective
    not working properly
  39. reference
an indicator that orients you generally
  40. procedure
a set sequence of steps, part of larger computer program
