    wet through and through; thoroughly wet
    I remember the outlines of garden beds not yet planted for the spring, a goat or two in a pen, one sodden dog tied to a post, hunched defeated in the muck.
  10. blather
    foolish gibberish
    It's mostly a lot of blather about what we owe the Capitol.
  11. demeanor
    the way a person behaves toward other people
    She has dark brown skin and eyes, but other than that, she's very like Prim in size and demeanor.
  12. decrepit
    worn and broken down by hard use
    Only when she mounts the stage and they ask for volunteers, all you can hear is the wind whistling through the decrepit buildings around her.
  13. mentor
    a wise and trusted guide and advisor
    "Your mentor has a lot to learn about presentation. A lot about televised behavior."
  14. affectation
    a deliberate pretense or exaggerated display
    "Hello, Katniss. I'm Cinna, your stylist," he says in a quiet voice somewhat lacking in the Capitol's affectations.
  15. prestigious
    having influence by reason of high status
    On the buildings that surround the Circle, every window is packed with the most prestigious citizens of the Capitol.
