Amra Sabic-El-Rayess is a professor and international speaker, a Bosnian Muslim who survived the Bosnian Genocide and immigrated to America. Her memoir, The Cat I Never Named: A True Story of Love, War, and Survival, which she co-authored with Laura L. Sullivan, received starred reviews from Booklist, School Library Journal, and Kirkus, and it was a YALSA Excellence in Nonfiction Finalist.
