Marjorie Agosín is a Chilean-American writer and human rights activist who has written over 80 books. Her novel I Lived on Butterfly Hill was awarded the Pura Belpré Medal. The Chilean government awarded her with the Gabriela Mistral Medal of Honor for Life Achievement in 2000.
