    Last year's seniors were a crazy bunch, always in trouble and trying to placate the principal for what they'd done. As time went by, the principal said that he couldn't be placated any longer.

    tear down so as to make flat with the ground
    We spent last weekend razing the old barn on our property. We'd hope to save it, but since it was too decrepit to restore, we were forced to raze it instead.
