Xenophilia

Words dragged kicking and screaming into the English Language -- primarily for the quixotic and poignant purpose of sassing up our daily verb in order to achieve the linguistic effect of a particularly fetching hat donned at a jaunty and perhaps even somewhat rakish angle. Generally a high risk undertaking, requiring a very sure and steady hand, not for beginners. Most likely to be found lurking in written, rather than spoken, language -- inserted into Conde Nast publications in earnest by the last of a dying breed, and in other media via ham-fisted self-conscious feints at snark.
