Odds and ends are a mixture of different things, especially leftover or miscellaneous bits. Many people have a drawer in their kitchen full of all kinds of odds and ends.

You can also use terms like bits and bobs or this and that to mean odds and ends. Your least favorite meal might be the casserole your dad makes with odds and ends from the refrigerator all mixed together, while your favorite place to shop could be a thrift store that sells odds and ends. Odds and ends probably started out as odd ends in the sixteenth century, meaning "leftover pieces or lumber or cloth."
