anthophagous

An animal that is anthophagous feeds on flowers. If you see a little bug nibbling on a rose petal, call it an anthophagous insect and impress everyone.

The roots of anthophagous are Greek — anthos means “flower” and words that end in phagous are about a specific diet or way of eating. Anthophagous creatures are those that feed on flowers, which is true of humans in a very limited way, but it's a whole way of life if you're a moth larva. An anthophagous diet might be the prettiest diet of all.
