Last month we launched the Vocabulary.com app for iPhones and iPads, bringing the addictive Vocabulary.com game and the powerful dictionary that supports it to the palm of your hand. The release was an instant hit, rocketing to the top of the App Store charts for education apps. Today we are pleased to announce that the Vocabulary.com app is now available for Android devices as well.

When the iOS version of the Vocabulary.com app was launched, it hit #1 in the App Store's education category and was ranked #9 in paid apps overall, also getting featured in the Best New Apps listing. And the response was overwhelming, with Fast Company calling it "a positively addictive app for aspiring wordsmiths" and TIME calling it "an addictive word-learning app" and "an approachable dictionary and quiz machine." Betabeat, AppAdvice, MacSources, and Bloomberg TV all sang its praises.

And now users of Android devices can join in the fun. It took a little longer to roll out the Android app because of all of the different kinds of devices that the operating system runs on. But starting today, you can go to the Google Play Store and download the app for your Android phone or tablet. Whether you have a smartphone, 7-inch tablet, or 10-inch tablet, we've got you covered.

As with the iOS version, it's easy to sign in to your current Vocabulary.com account or sign up if you haven't already played. All of your progress will carry over between online and mobile environments, so you won't have to worry about losing track of your word mastery, your achievements, or the vocabulary lists you're studying.

So if you have an Android device, what are you waiting for? Download the app and see what all the fuss is about. You'll be glad you did!
