The Vocabulary.com leaderboards reflect the total words mastered by all students at your school. Help your students maximize their word mastery to propel your school to the #1 spot!

Take the fast track to mastery

  • Mastery is based on answering multiple questions correctly on a given word. Correct answers in Practice assignments contribute to mastery progress.
  • After students complete a Practice activity, they can click on Finish Mastery to continue answering questions on the words from their Practice list. Students can also find the Finish Mastery option on any list in their My lists page.

Get a word workout with VocabTrainer™

  • Encourage your students to get in 15 minutes per day with their personal word learning coach, VocabTrainer™. Students can get their VocabTrainer™ workout at the beginning of class, during homeroom, when they finish their other work, or as part of their homework.
  • VocabTrainer™ questions also contribute to mastery while focusing on students’ trouble words. Words a student struggled with in Practice activities are automatically added to their VocabTrainer™ personalized learning plan.
  • Monitor student time in VocabTrainer™ on your teacher dashboard by clicking on Hours Spent to see total time by class and individual student.

Set a goal

  • Set a weekly word mastery goal for students. When students are consistently completing Practice activities and VocabTrainer™ rounds, mastering 10 words per week is a great starting goal.
  • Challenge students to increase their goal throughout the school year.
  • Celebrate and motivate students who achieve and surpass their goals! Your teacher dashboard displays top students by word mastery so you can create opportunities for recognizing them.
