Starting today you'll notice a new interface when you visit Vocabulary.com. We call it our new "card navigation" and we're pretty excited about it. Here's how it works:
When you first log into Vocabulary.com as a student or if you click "Play" in the main navigation, you'll see the new cards. Depending on what you've been doing on Vocabulary.com, you'll see a different set of cards chosen just for you, giving you several options for what you can learn next. Our goal is to make it easier for you to navigate between all the different activities available to you, and to make using Vocabulary.com easier and more fun.
So remember, from now on, if you click the "Play" button, you'll see these fancy new cards, and if you click "Play" again, the cards will go away and you can go back to what you were doing. Nifty, right?
Now, let's take a look at all the different card options you may see:
You'll see the My Assignments card whenever you have an assignment due soon that you have not completed yet. Whether it's a Practice activity, a Spelling Bee, or a Quiz, you'll see the My Assignments card first if you have an assignment pending for any class that you are a member of.
This card invites you to play the Challenge, and will show you your next goal based on what you've been working on and how far you are away from various achievements. The Challenge is where you work on all the words in your learning program, with the goal of mastering new words and brushing up on all your current trouble words.
This card shows you the next upcoming scheduled Vocabulary Jam you can join. Play in a public, scheduled jam against other members of the Vocabulary.com community and help your team win this real-time, head-to-head competition. See our post about the new scheduled Vocabulary Jams for more information.
If you've practiced a list, and elected to continue to master all the words in the list, you'll see this card. Click the "Finish Mastery" button to play a version of the Challenge where you focus primarily on the words in a list until you master all of them. It's a great way to extend your learning on a list you've been practicing.
Start an activity on one of the recently featured lists from our vast list library. Each week we feature interesting new books, fun lists, and words ripped from the headlines.
Finish up an activity that you have previously started. If you started working on an activity, but didn't quite make it to the finish line, you'll see a "Keep Going" card. Click the "Resume" button to keep working on the activity.
Paste a list of words you'd like to learn and we'll create a list that you can Practice, play a Spelling Bee, or create a Vocabulary Jam from. It's the fastest way to start mastering a list of words you want to learn.
Next in Collection
If you just finished working on an activity that is part of a collection, this card will appear to show you what's on deck.
We hope you like the new card interface as much as we do. Let us know in the comments below!
Keep on learning!
