phygital

/ˈfɪdʒətəl/
IPA guide

Phygital refers to a form of retail that combines in-person and online experiences. Shopping for something online and then picking it up in person is an example of phygital.

There are many different ways to combine in-person and online experiences for customers, and more are being created all the time. But where does the word phygital come from? You might've guessed that it’s a blend of the first part of physical and the last part of digital. It seems appropriate that something blending two kinds of shopping should be called by a word that is itself a blend! Remembering that the first part is from physical may help you with the spelling.
