Other forms: mythically
Anything that's mythic derives from or resembles a traditional story or legend. While traveling in Scotland, you might hope to spot the mythic Loch Ness Monster.
Something with a mythic quality might not connect directly to well-known myths, but it still reminds you of them in some way. Your friend who's famous for his mythic stories might tend to exaggerate. And a popular hero might be idealized and talked about as a mythic figure. This adjective comes from the Late Latin mythicus, "legendary," and the Greek root mythos, "anything delivered by world of mouth."
