The 2015-2016 Vocabulary Bowl has just kicked off, and already one school has big dreams.
First Colonial High School of Virginia Beach, VA, has broken on to the national leaderboard and has their sights on #1. But just as impressive is a video from English teacher James Godfrey celebrating their progress by explicating an A+ vocabulary word, quixotic. He even roped in a colleague, orchestra teacher Alexander Mason, to sing "The Impossible Dream" backed by the string section of First Colonial's student orchestra.
This brilliant piece of video-wordcraft just made our day, and we challenge you to watch it without smiling.
For a school that celebrates this hard, we can only imagine that the best is yet to come. Go, First Colonial!
