
This Vocabulary Bowl season, students across the US and Canada collectively mastered over 4 million words in a race for word domination!

The points have been tallied and the official results are in! Congrats to our newly crowned champs this season.
Division I: High School Champion
Starting off strong is Division I Champion and Florida State Champion, Saint Thomas Aquinas High School from Fort Lauderdale, FL! This was an epic win as they dethroned seven-time winner, Etiwanda High School and claimed the champion title with a whopping 111,669 mastered words.

Division I: High School Runner-up
Etiwanda High School of Etiwanda, CA, champion of the past seven seasons and this year’s California State Champion soared to second place with a mastery of 69,764 words! The most decorated school in Bowl history continues their streak with this 8th consecutive win as California State Champions.

Division I: Middle/Elementary School Champion
In first place is two-time champion Sig Rogich Middle School from Las Vegas, NV with 35,229 mastered words! They shocked us last season as their small but mighty team of 120 9th-grade honors students dominated Division I schools of over 1000+ students. They’ve done it again this season - go Rough Riders!
Division I: Middle/Elementary School Runner-up
Long-time Bowl participant, McAuliffe Middle School from Los Alamitos, CA has been in the Top 10 for most Bowl seasons and was crowned Champion in the 2019-20 season. They made a fierce comeback this season as they swooped up the 2nd place spot in their division with 32,955 mastered words!
Division II: High School Champion
DuBois Area High School from DuBois, PA was crowned Division II High School Champ and Pennsylvania State Champion for the first time! Mastering 27,371 words, the Beavers propelled up the leaderboards this season. Congrats to these word warriors!
Division II: High School Runner-up
The Koalas continue their streak and mark their 6th consecutive season in the Top 10! The Ursuline School from New Rochelle, NY snags the runner-up spot with 24,424 mastered words. Congratulations to the Koalas for their first New York State Championship!
Division II: Middle/Elementary School Champion
After consistently earning a spot in the Top 15 since 2018 and being runner-up last season, Ladera Vista Junior High School from Fullerton, CA propelled to the number one spot this season with 31,113 mastered words! Let’s go Spartans!
Division II: Middle/Elementary School Runner-up
With their first ever win in Vocabulary Bowl history, Alice C Stelle from Calabasas, CA soared to new heights and earned the second place spot with 27,619 mastery points. Go Eagles, go!
Division III: High School Champion
The Knights of Buckingham Collegiate Charter Academy in Vacaville, CA have been dominating their division! With a word mastery total of 50,417, this season marks their 6th Division III Championship in Bowl history. Keep up the vocabulary victories, Knights!
Division III: High School Runner-up
Arp High School from Arp, TX is the number one Rookie School, Texas State Champion, and Division III Runner-up for the second season in a row! These Tigers are not here to play and we can’t wait to see what comes next for Arp!

Division III: Middle/Elementary School Champion
Morehead City Middle School from Morehead City, NC is defending their championship title with their second consecutive win! As first-time North Carolina State Champs, these Minutemen mastered 26,591 words to earn this top spot.
Division III: Middle/Elementary School Runner-up
Congrats to Learning Tree Elementary School from Dalton, GA for this amazing accomplishment! With only 34 kids in grades 5-8 at their school, they mastered 16,506 words, earning their Division III Runner-up and Georgia State Champion titles. Amazing job, Learning Tree!
Top Rookie Schools
We applaud all of the rookie schools this season for doing so well as they jumped right into the competition with impressive word mastery! These schools have had a Vocabulary.com license for fewer than three years but have held their own this season:
- Arp High School from Arp, TX is not only the Top Rookie School but also the Division III Runner-up and Texas State Champions! With a mastery of 43,181 words, these Tigers marked their spot as a top Vocabulary Bowl contender to look out for.
- Morehead City Middle School from Morehead City, NC takes the second spot with 26,591 words. As a Top Rookie School, NC State Champs, and Division III Champions for two consecutive seasons, these Minutemen are not to be messed with.
- McGee’s Crossroads Middle School from Benson, NC comes in third place with 24,254 mastered words! This marks their first win in Vocabulary Bowl history and we’re excited to see what they do next.
- Spanish River Community High School from Boca Raton, FL marks down their first title in Vocabulary Bowl history clocking in at 19,487 mastery points. These ferocious Sharks put up a good fight and earned their spot as a Top Rookie School.
- Oak Lawn Community High School of Oak Lawn, IL earned their Top Rookie School and Illinois State Champion titles for two consecutive seasons! These Spartans were persistent in their word learning and mastered 18,548 words.
Top Teachers
The Vocabulary Bowl would not be possible without devoted educators across the country inspiring and motivating their students! The Top Teachers are determined by total word mastery from their rostered students. These teachers went above and beyond to tirelessly ignite the spark of learning within students and guide them to vocabulary victory.
