Vocabulary.com has released its newest feature to support both teachers and learners, Flashcards. Flashcards are available for every vocab word on Vocabulary.com’s thousands of curated, ready-made vocabulary lists, supporting the most commonly taught texts and topics.
Get a headstart on word learning
A familiar face to most learners, Flashcards are the perfect activity to introduce new words on Vocabulary.com.
Students can work independently anytime, anywhere to prepare for their upcoming practice assignments, quizzes, and more. Students can access Flashcards at any time on the List page, engaging with them alongside their other activities to study, test themselves, or refresh their knowledge of previously mastered words.
Vocabulary gets visual
Flashcards are excellent for visual learners and many students will flip for this new way to explore and interact with the words on Vocabulary.com. The visual format also creates an opportunity for teachers to use Flashcards during in-class instruction and discussion.
With our revamped lists and collections, you’ll notice that Flashcards appear on every one of these curated resources on Vocabulary.com. Once signed in, you’ll be able to view the entire set of Flashcards at the top of each List page.
Start learning with Flashcards. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3:- Select a list from our vast list library with over 13,000 curated resources.
- Click on an individual Flashcard to flip to the definition on the other side.
- Follow the on-screen navigation (previous/next) to move through the Flashcards.
Other options include clicking on the audio icon to hear the pronunciation of the word and selecting “View full screen” for a larger view.
Personalize your study plan
All users have the ability to create and customize their very own Flashcards. All you have to do is sign in and make a new vocabulary list, it’s that easy! Once you create a new list, Flashcards are automatically generated to match the words and definitions you chose. To view Flashcards for your existing custom lists, simply select the list you want to learn from your vocabulary lists page and your new custom Flashcards will be displayed at the top of the page.
