"On Surrender at Bear Paw Mountain, 1877"

Chief Joseph tried to fight for the lands of the Nez Perce tribe. But against the US Army and the weather, he was forced to surrender. Here are some words from the speech he made at that moment. For words from a more formal speech he later addressed to Washington D.C, click here
