    More like a swirling storm of debris. Swaths that blindside, bruise, divide.

    But behavior like that doesn't come out of nowhere. It's fueled every time we ignore or excuse or explain away bigoted words and actions. Those that are obvious and blatant, those that are small and subtle, yet evermore destructive in their cumulative effect.

    First, I want to personally express my solidarity with the Theater students and their families and my condemnation of the attacks on their peace of mind and the Wolfes' property.

    Everyone with their own story to share, I was sure, though power had been restored and old town had been spared the brunt of the storm.
