    Some are viewing the athletes among the students who were caught red-cupped in Eden Prairie through a surprisingly sympathetic lens.
  9. abstain
    refrain from doing, consuming, or partaking in something
    The Minnesota High School League requires student-athletes and their parents to pledge that the students will abstain from alcohol and illegal drugs.

    the outcome of an event
    There are a lot of discussions going on in a lot of households about alcohol and consequences.
