Valentine's Day Story Activities

A special for Valentine's Day: TWO Valentine stories using 18 thematic vocabulary words.
One story uses the words below. With the second story you must fill-in-the-blanks! You have permission to make a hard copy for further vocabulary study.

The following words (listed alphabetically) appear somewhere in the story below :
Story One: It couldn't be helped! In the CORE of my heart, I knew I was ENAMORED with Janie Simmons. The INFATUATION on my part was clear since I knew she was my HEARTTHROB! A genuine ROMANCE seemed likely. I planned an honest COURTSHIP with FLOWERS, CHOCOLATE and plenty of CORDIAL conversation with my TRUELOVE! I finally worked up the COURAGE to ask her to the SWEETHEART dance in the HEARTLAND of the county! Even if she said, "No!" her negative response would not DISCOURAGE me. There was absolutely no reason to feel HEARTBROKEN because there was no DISCORD between us! In fact, we were in total CONCORDANCE since she accepted the invitation with HEARTINESS!

A fill-in-the-blank activity for Valentine's: Choose one of the 18 alphabetical thematic words for each blank to create a Valentine sentence which will form a story: chocolate, concordance, core, cordial, courage, courtship, discord, discourage, enamored, flowers, heartbroken, heartiness, heartland, heartthrob, infatuation, romance, sweetheart, truelove.
