Motion Picture Industry Academy Awards® Lesson Plan Ideas:
Objectives: Raise students curiosity about the creation of motion picture entertainment. Have students research facts about forms and messages behind movies and stage plays.
- 1. Discuss three well-known festivals and/or awards that are given annually in the world.
- 2. Discuss the motion picture industry and the distribution of films.
- 3. In addition to motion pictures, what are other popular forms of art and entertainment?
- 4. Why are motion pictures a source of information as well as entertainment?
- 5. Discuss four differences between motion pictures and stage plays.
- 6. How are the roles of a producer and director dissimilar?
- 7. Do you think that the merger of Pixar and Disney is positive or negative for future animated movie making. Why?
