Did you know? Excepts from N. Winter, McClatchy Tribune
YELLOW is a very noticeable color
(Ex: forsythia in the spring, highway signs, school buses, the sun)
Yellow's complementary color is purple or violet. Together, they suggest royalty/pageantry
More:
Colors make people "feel" and have an effect on moods.
RED stimulates, excites and warms the body. It increases the heart rate and respiration. (Young moms = red balls) (avoid with high blood pressure!)
PINK = soothing... often seen in hospitals/prisons/drug centers
ORANGE = stimulates appetite, lessens fatigue
YELLOW = helps memory
GREEN = spring, new beginnings, calm anticipation and relaxation, controls anxiety
BLUE = relaxing, calming, cooling (classrooms)

Are you aware?
* that RAINBOWS form because of light that refracts off of drops of water that move constantly. No two people can see exactly the same colors in a rainbow?
* that HAINT BLUE is used as a color often in the South. It has a reputation of keeping away evil spirits and insects, too?
* colors have symbolic meanings. Examples include purple=royalty; baby blue=boys; pink=girls,
green=ecologically
