professor

A professor is someone who teaches at a college or university. They dress in formal clothing, often wear glasses, and will probably give you a failing grade if you don’t know the definition of professor, so pay attention.

All universities and colleges have good and bad professors. Good professors make learning a fun experience and help you when you have trouble understanding. Bad professors yell when you don’t do your homework, and make fun of students you for asking questions. The Latin origin of the word means “declared publicly,” and professors are responsible for publicly sharing their knowledge with the world, or at least with whoever can afford to pay them for lessons.
