perverse

Something perverse, or improper, doesn't have a whole lot of good things going for it, even if it brings a few laughs.

Some synonyms for perverse include "incorrect" and "corrupt," and often it's used to highlight something over-the-top, inappropriate, or out of the norm, as in "a perverse sense of humor." Perverse carries negative connotations, or suggestions, and it even comes from a 12th-century French word for "wicked." It has been an adjective for very bad things for a very long time. "Twisted" is another word that's used interchangeably with perverse, which can also mean "sick" or "unsound."
