    Please read the paragraph-story below to help you study and learn new words. In the Session #138 activities following the story, the exercises will help you determine and understand the meaning of the twelve new words. The 12 story words are listed alphabetically below.
  • ABJURE, ALLEGATION, CERTIFY, DISCRIMINATE, ILLEGITIMATE, JURISDICTION, LEGACY, PERJURY, RECRIMINATION, RELEGATE, SECRETE, UNJUSTLY

    A jealous co-worker, Nancy, has made an angry and vocal RECRIMINATION against Ellen. Even though the ALLEGATION is made UNJUSTLY and the claim is ILLEGITIMATE, Ellen will not RELEGATE the statement to maliciousness. She will CERTIFY under oath that she would never SECRETE any document. The LEGACY of her excellence during thirty years must not be questioned. With the help of JURISDICTION from the police department, she will prove that the accuser committed PERJURY to DISCRIMINATE against her. Nancy will be forced to ABJURE her lies and show remorse in order to keep her job.
