Holiday Puzzle Village

Vocabulary University started in May '97 with the idea that pleasing graphics and interactive puzzles could draw participants into learning vocabulary words. Since everyone loves holidays, we created puzzles using words related to Christmas, Valentine's Day, July 4th and Halloween. We will create more holiday puzzles in the future, and we welcome your contributions (see our email below). NOTE: the puzzle answers are at the bottom of this page, below all three puzzles.

  • Christmas -- tinsel, decorate, wreath, mistletoe.
  • Valentines -- heartbroken, heartthrob, heartland, heartiness.
  • July 4th - explode, crescendo, pyrotechnics, detonation.
  • Halloween -- curse, coven, cauldron, cackle.
