NCAA Basketball Championship Word Answers and Sentences
- 1 - OFFICIATE
At the end of the close game, several players spoke to the referee to tell him that he had done an excellent job when he OFFICIATED.
- 2 - PERIMETER
As the basketball guard prepared to shoot a 3-pointer, he was careful to keep his foot outside the PERIMETER of the court that designated the 2 point area.
- 3 - REGULATION
During REGULATION play, the referees used their best judgement to make appropriate foul "calls" when they thought the rules were broken.
- 4 - SUBSTITUTE
Since his team was comfortably winning the very competitive game, the coach called on his youngest player to SUBSTITUTE for Charles, his best performer.
- 5 - FEIGN
The rookie FEIGNED an excellent move to the right, pivoted left and shot the ball accurately to make the three points!
- 6 - FLAGRANT
The coach was finally so infuriated by Joan's FLAGRANT disregard for his carefully delivered instructions that he benched her for the rest of the game.
- 7 - VIOLATION
Since the player was clearly in VIOLATION of the regulation, the referee forced him to turn control of the ball over to the opposing team at a crucial time.
- 8 - TECHNICAL
When the player got a TECHNICAL foul for his unsportsmanlike conduct, his whole team feared its opponent might now tie the score with the extra points from the penalty.
- 9 - VICTORIOUS
Each year the VICTORIOUS winner of The Stanley Cup which celebrates hockey preeminence, drinks champagne from the huge 4 foot silver "Cup".
- 10 - DOMINATION
The DOMINATION of the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls exemplify their superiority of play over all other competing teams in the last 40 years.
- 11 - INTENSITY
The INTENSITY of the game was so powerful that the glass backboards and hoops shook from the crowd's roars, stomping and emotional displays of enthusiasm.
- 12 - POSSESSION
The North Carolina Tar Heels use a technique near the end of the game that allows the team to keep POSSESSION of the basketball for the full legal limit.
