Sam Mantics
"Hi, I'm Sam Mantics, Dean of Admissions & Directions at Vocabulary University®. Explore our Level 2 educational activities: Level 2 Fill-in-the-Blanks, Definition Matching, Synonym & Antonym Encounter, Contextual Story, Level 2 Word Find, Level 2 Crosswordand True or False?

In this session we will study three roots/cells: NAT, TRACT-TRA and SEQU-SECU. Do you know what each one means? (NAT = be born; TRACT = pull, draw; SEQU = follow) The following story will further clarify the meanings of these new words.

Sophia, a woman of Greek NATIONALITY, wanted a DISTRACTION and decided to study the SUPERNATURAL. Familiar with COGNATES, she examined languages that gave a PORTRAYAL of creatures and unexplained events. Perhaps she was NAÏVE but she even pursued INCONSEQUENTIAL details and information of a SECONDARY nature. She became so involved that she indicated a need to PROTRACT her analysis. The final SEQUEL to her interest ended with unkind associates who were annoyed with her obsession of ABSTRACT circumstances. They began to PERSECUTE her for her fantasies.
Still confused about some meanngs? See a second story here.
Make time to learn the roots! Then, after you have memorized each one, complete the three puzzles below. If you can not solve all or just solve part, hit the submit button twice at the bottom of the page to get the correct answers.
