In this session we will study three roots/cells: PLIC, FAC-FIC and COGN-NOT. Do you know what each one means? (PLIC = fold, bend; FAC-FIC = make, do; COGN-NOT = know) The following story will further clarify the meanings of these new words.
In John's EMPLOYMENT, he met an ACQUAINTANCE with an ARTIFICIAL knee. During the MAGNIFICENT surgery, a doctor on the FACULTY at the university did not encounter a single COMPLICATION, although neither patient nor physician was IGNORANT of the risks. Fortunately, the doctor had not MISAPPLIED new technology and there was not a DEFICIENCY of capable nurses. The successful operation did not go UNNOTICED enabling the doctor to perform a DUPLICATE surgery where other faculty did RECOGNIZE the skillful job.
