Here are the 12 words from the three Thanksgiving Holiday puzzles used in contextual sentences.
- Pilgrimage - 1. The people who established Plymouth Colony in 1620 made a PILGRIMAGE from England on the Mayflower.
- Harvest - 2. After toiling in the fields, is it any wonder farmers enthusiastically celebrate the crop HARVEST?
- Blessing - 3. Americans should count our BLESSINGS because we live in a free country with an abundance of resources.
- Cornucopia - 4. The beautiful CORNUCOPIA as a centerpiece in our dining table symbolizes the bounty of our fertile land.
- Cranberry - 5. A turkey sandwich on dark rye, loaded with lots of tasty CRANBERRY sauce, is the perfect lunch for me!
- Stuffing - 6. Grandma showed me how to make her famous, delicious STUFFING to put inside my 21 pound turkey.
- Dressing - 7. Imagine! My brother puts thousand island DRESSING and jalapenos all over his sweet potatoes and peas.
- Giblet - 8. My family pours piping hot gravy with diced GIBLETS into mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving.
- Feast - 9. To include every family member for the Thanksgiving FEAST, we needed three big tables plus highchairs.
- Celebration - 10. Isn't it special to hold a CELEBRATION where family and friends can come together to enjoy food and relax?
- Gobble - 11. We know the barks and meows of dogs and cats, but the GOBBLE of a turkey is a very strange sound.
- Observation - 12. The children made the OBSERVATION that because everyone was happy, it was the best holiday ever!
