This activity is NOT interactive. We hope you will use our "short samples" to inspire you to write your own creative and longer story using the 16+ words in this week's vocabulary lesson plan. You have permission to make a hard copy for further vocabulary study at home or in the classroom.
WEEK 2: My vocabulary.com STORY words from the roots DICT and CRED (in alphabetical order):
SHORT STORY using the root DICT = to say, declare:
The young boy used his DICTIONARY when he DEDICATED himself to study the INDICTMENT of the DICTATORIAL ruler who continues to issue EDICTS. The journalistıs assessment concluded that the DICTATORSHIP was PREDICATED in evil. The ruler had total JURISDICTION over the populace. The journalist made a PREDICTION that INDICATES that, after all, the ruler will be forced to ABDICATE. (Can you fit the word "discredit" into this story?)
SHORT STORY using the root CRED = to believe, trust:
The CREDENTIALS of the MISCREANT had no CREDIBILITY. His INCREDIBLE CREDO left people INCREDULOUS because he was such a DISCREDIT to humanity. Not a single person gave CREDENCE to his supposed CREED of beliefs. This man would never be a CREDIT any society.
