"Hi, I'm Sam Mantics, Dean of Admissions & Directions at Vocabulary University®. The faculty is pleased to present these free Latin and Greek interactive root puzzles. Our Week 3 emphasis will focus on these roots/cells: DUCT and FID/FED. Do you know what each one means? The following story will help clarify their meanings.

STORY with DUCT-words:
After the soldier's INDUCTION, he was assigned to REDUCE the gush of water in the AQUEDUCT. His CONDUCT and performance were so excellent that he was able to DEDUCT a large flow from the concrete structure. Unfortunately, the SEDUCTION of his success led to some personal MISCONDUCT and his superiors refused to allow him to work on the new VIADUCT.

STORY with FID/FED-words:
A FEDERAL judge showed constant FIDELITY to both the government and the honor of his profession. Under severe pressure from a CONFEDERACY of special interests, he refused to issued an AFFADAVIT that would make their secret dealings a BONA FIDE entity. He was CONFIDENT that the FIDUCIARY matters within the document were correct and the documents did not have to be CONFIDENTIAL.

Make time to learn the roots! Then, after you have memorized each one, complete the four puzzles below.
