Subsequently, he invented the electric light, mimeograph machine and phonograph. He helped improve the motion picture camera & projector (sound movie camera patented in 1891) and the stock ticker. He developed the first alkaline storage batteries in 1914. The holder of more than 100 patents, this famous quote is attributed to him," Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration."
